Michigan basketball takes on Indiana after an impressive home win against Maryland, the Wolverines enter the game just above .500 and take on an Indiana Hoosier team who is coming off an upset against top 5 Purdue.

Michigan basketball played a fantastic game against the Terrapins. Everyone contributed at a high level and we saw play from players that have been inconsistent and underwhelming.

The Wolverines enter this game 8-7 overall and 2-3 in conference play, on the contrary, the Hoosiers are 14-4 overall and 5-3 in the conference. Michigan takes on Indiana at Assembly Hall, a gym they traditionally struggle in.

The Wolverines enter this game with renewed confidence, and we could see Michigan come out and stun the world with a major upset against the Hoosiers, but in order for that to happen, we need to keep an eye out on the following.

1. Hunter Dickinson needs to have a double-double (10pt + 10reb)

Michigan is currently 6-1 when Hunter Dickinson gets a double-double. When referring to a double-double for those who are not sure what it means, it’s a term for a player who reaches double figures in two of the five main statistics (points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks).

Most commonly for a player at Center, 10+ points and 10+ rebounds is what I am referring to, it’ll be the basis I use for the rest of this segment.

Hunter Dickinson staying out of foul trouble and getting rebounds for the Wolverines will dictate the pace this game is played at, and we want it played at the tempo that the Wolverines are comfortable with.

Michigan basketball, at times, tries to push the pace, and it results in a turnover or a low-percentage shot. However, if Michigan is able to feel comfortable at the pace they set, Michigan is going to dominate the Hoosiers.

Dickinson is going to be the key to opening up this game for the Wolverines, it’s going to take most likely a 20+ point game with at least 10 rebounds. The last game Hunter grabbed a double-double was against Southern Utah, so Sunday would be the perfect time to pick one up.
