3. This is just the start of a tough January for the Wolverines

The Michigan players should deservingly so soak in this victory, it was a much-needed win and by no stretch a fluke, they came out and played like we thought they were going to play this season. However, the road ahead is not easy at all.

Take last year, for example, Michigan State finished 15-13 and made the First Four. Michigan is already at that 7 loss threshold in a very good conference. Now the past is the past and we have no idea how things will shake up but Michigan has some serious ground to cover.

Michigan basketball has to go to Assembly Hall in four days to take on the Hoosiers, then they get a very tough Northwestern team at Crisler three days later, and to cap it all off they have the long-awaited matchup against Sparty at the Breslin Center.

I can’t tell you how many wins are there, but I can tell you that if Michigan wants to make the tournament they need to win at least 2, ideally 3 of those games.

The season is not going to get any easier after that, they have two games against Ohio State, games at Purdue, Wisconsin, and Iowa as well.

Hopefully, the Wolverines can pick up a win at Assembly Hall this weekend to start seriously moving the tide of this season on a more positive note.
