6 Transfer portal targets for Michigan Football
By Alex Hinton
Oregon CB DJ James
James was a three-star recruit in the 2019 class out of Spanish Fort, Alabama. He developed into a starter for the Ducks and when I watched them, he stood out on a defense that included star players Kayvon Thibodeaux and Noah Sewell.
James is 6 foot and 180 pounds and he has the length and fluid hips to defend on the perimeter. He also has the quickness to defend smaller and shifty slot receivers.
This past season, James recorded 46 tackles, two interceptions, and four passes defended. It is rare to find a corner in the portal of James’ caliber. He entered his name in the portal after head coach Mario Cristobal left for Miami.
James is considering following Cristobal to Miami and he also took a visit to Auburn recently, so Michigan football will have to move quickly if it wants him.
James could replace Vincent Gray at corner and add talent and experience to the Wolverines secondary. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
