Sean Spencer (New York Giants)

Currently the defensive line coach of the New York Giants, Spencer could look at jumping ship sooner than later, as Giants head coach Joe Judge has been on the hot seat recently.

Spencer is a graduate of Clarion University in Pennsylvania and has spent most of his time coaching the northeast, with stops at Holy Cross, UMass, Bowling Green, and several others. His big break came when he was hired to James Franklin’s staff at Vanderbilt, and proceeded to follow him to Penn State, where he coached from 2014-2019.

The Nittany Lions defensive line was consistently impressive under Spencer, with several notable players such as Austin Johnson, Carl Nassib, Yetur Gross-Matos, Shareef Miller, and Anthony Zettel all being selected in the NFL Draft under Spencer’s tutelage.

Additionally, Sean Spencer is considered a strong recruiter, with an impressive list of all-time recruits from 247Sports. He checks multiple boxes for Michigan football and could help the Wolverines remain a force in the northeast, where they have pulled some excellent players such as Kwity Paye and Andrew Stueber in recent years.
