The 143rd version of Michigan football already has a sunny outlook

With 2021 in the rearview mirror folks are already looking ahead to what next year’s squad will look like. They all caught a bird’s eye view with some of the freshmen on full display Friday night. Mainly J.J. McCarthy, Donovan Edwards, and Andrel Anthony had rare moments that stood out in an otherwise pitiful night.

That trio will spearhead the offense for the foreseeable future unless something changes. They’ll be joined by a lot of returning athletes on offense including Blake Corum, Ronnie Bell, and Erick All if the reports of him returning already turn out to be true.

That has the potential of a loaded offense to go with all the big maulers who come back on the line.

Defensively it is unknown what David Ojabo and Dax Hill will do, but the cupboard will not be left bare if they depart for the NFL.

Jaylen Harrell, Junior Colson, Nikhai Hill-Green, Rod Moore, and R.J. Moten should return as starters if everything goes as planned in the offseason. Five-star Will Johnson will most likely earn time in the defensive backfield and don’t forget about other guys who could make noise like Rayshaun Benny, Braiden McGregor, and Andre Seldon.
