I had the privilege of speaking with a Georgia alum who also writes for FanSided and wanted to share her thoughts on her Georgia roots and the can’t miss Orange Bowl matchup on Friday night. Here is what Georgia fan Savannah Leigh had to say.

Looking ahead to the Orange Bowl matchup between Michigan and Georgia, Savannah Leigh talks about her background covering the Bulldogs:

“Football is my passion. I love everything about it and learning from it. My aunt started taking me to the National Signing Day festivities when I was 10 and I’ve had my own season tickets with my grandmother since I was four years old.

Georgia football runs in my blood and since that time when I was a kid, I knew covering Georgia football would be my career. I graduated from Georgia’s journalism school in 2018 and it’s one of my biggest accomplishments. Writing about the Dawgs is what I’m supposed to do in life, so I’m blessed to be doing it for FanSided.

I’ve been writing about the Dawgs for six years now as I took my first internship in Kirby Smart’s first season, but FanSided came into my lap shortly after graduating. That stint with them was short-lived though as I took a newspaper job covering a little bit of Georgia football, but mostly high school sports and professional golf.

However, I was longing to cover the Dawgs again, so when I found myself unemployed this past August, I reached back out and took over as site expert, then went full time with FanSided in October.”
