3 items on Michigan Football’s Christmas wishlist
2. Win the Orange Bowl
Michigan football has already achieved more than anyone thought possible this season. The Wolverines were given a two-percent chance of winning the Big Ten championship by ESPN’s FPI and a 0.5 percent chance of making the College Football Playoff.
But, the Wolverines weren’t worried about metrics or rankings or what anyone outside of Schembechler Hall thought about their chances. They believed in themselves all season long and it led to a championship season.
Those who stay will be champions.
Now, they have the opportunity to chase another championship — the National Championship — and only one Michigan team has won that in the last 73 years.
If the Wolverines can beat Georgia in the national semifinal, they will get their shot at the national title. But first things first, Michigan has to beat the Bulldogs.
Who would have thought we’d be wishing for a playoff win on Christmas Day in 2021, but thanks to a truly historic Michigan football team, that’s where we are.
