Michigan basketball is back on the court Tuesday night at home and here’s a look at the odds, as well as a prediction for Purdue Fort Wayne.

Just a few days after demolishing Southern Utah out of the Big Sky, Michigan basketball will be back home Tuesday against Purdue Fort Wayne in its final game before Christmas.

While Southern Utah was a defending conference champion and a team ranked in the top 125 of the Kenpom rankings, the same can’t be said for Purdue Fort Wayne, which is 274th in the Kenpom rankings and 326 in adjusted defense.

This is sort of the opponent you expect in a buy game and it will be a great opportunity for the Wolverines to build some confidence and sharpen the rotation.

Here’s a look at the odds for Michigan basketball against Purdue Fort Wayne, as well as a prediction and info on how to watch/stream.

Michigan Basketball vs Purdue Fort Wayne Odds

As you’d expect Michigan basketball is a heavy favorite in this matchup and according to WynnBET, the Wolverines are a 23-point favorite with an over/under set for 140.

Michigan Basketball vs Purdue Fort Wayne Prediction

Sort of like Southern Utah, Purdue Fort Wayne will have no answer for Hunter Dickinson inside. Their starting center is 6-foot-9 and while he’s a solid player, Dickinson is a tough match for even the best big-man defenders.

The Wolverines should be able to dominate inside, not just with Dickinson, but with Moussa Diabate and Brandon Johns — it would be good to get him going again.

Purdue Fort Wayne will look to force a lot of turnovers and that’s one area where Michigan has struggled. Part of that has been due to the transition at point guard. It also has to do with having more freshmen on the roster playing big minutes.

However, DeVante Jones was spectacular in his last game and I expect more of that on Tuesday. The problem is that it doesn’t matter if he can dominate non-major opponents. Jones needs to play well consistently against Big Ten competition.

Keep an eye on guys like Zeb Jackson and Kobe Bufkin. Each played well in the last game, especially Jackson, and Michigan could really use a guard with his size, plus another 3-point shooter which is something he excels at.

Bufkin is also a McDonald’s All-American and has flashed at times. He’s a dynamic scorer and can add even more floor spacing if he can be consistent.

All in all, this game shouldn’t be competitive and Michigan basketball will win easily 89-58.
