Early Signing Day is Wednesday and here’s a look at what you can expect as a Michigan football fan as the Wolverines have tons of momentum.

It’s funny how things seem to work out in the end. Here I was just a few weeks ago about to write an article kind of upset that Michigan football’s recruiting efforts have been severely underwhelming.

I mean they had been, up until this point. It didn’t make any sense to me why a team that had just beaten Ohio State and won a Big Ten championship had such a low-rated and underwhelming recruiting class. I mean, one five-star?! The No. 16 class in the nation? For a playoff team?!!

It just didn’t make any sense to me. Then, the commits started rolling in. Michigan Nation and I all breathed a deep breath and had a sigh of relief. We were going to be fine. We should just learn to start trusting this staff more often. Yes, they had been underwhelming for months, but the only thing that matters is how you finish, right?

Well, tomorrow, on Early Signing Day Jim Harbaugh and the staff have a chance to finish the class the right way. Currently, Michigan football’s class is ranked #9 in the country by 247 Sports with 20 commits.

National Signing Day (the early period) begins tomorrow at 9 a.m. Let’s briefly go over the positions group numbers, and then the highest-rated guys currently committed.

Number of commits by stars

Five stars: 1

Four stars: 7

Three stars: 12

By position

QB: 1-Jayden Denegal

RB: 1-CJ Stokes

WR: 1-Tyler Morris

TE: 2-Colston Loveland, Martin Klein

OL: 2-Alessandro Lorenzetti, Connor Jones

DL: 4-Kenneth Grant, Mason Graham, Ethan Burke, Kavonte Henry

LB: 4-Aaron ALexander, Deuce Spurlock, Micah Pollard, Jimmy Rolder

DB: 5-Kody Jones, Damani Dent, Zeke Berry, Will Johnson, Micah Pollard

Breaking Michigan football’s class so far

Listen, we can still complain all we want about there being too many three-stars in this class, but the fact that Michigan has a top-10 class with all of these three-stars should tell you something.

It means that all of the other players are very highly rated and balance out the recruiting class number. So, you should be giving credit to this coaching staff.

Oh yeah, and by the way, Hassan Haskins was a low three-star, and look how he turned out, just saying. A few of these three-stars are going to end up being studs down the line, I guarantee it, so we can all stop complaining now (yes, including the writer of this article).

Anyways, here’s a list of the top remaining targets. Also, fair warning, we’re only human so there could be even more recruits committing to Michigan football that surprise.

They might not show up on this list. We don’t always and can’t always predict what happens on NSD because it is very chaotic and fast-paced, so we will see tomorrow what happens. Here’s our best guess though:
