Michigan football dominated on its way to winning the Big Ten championship and here are the grades for the Wolverines.

We know that the Big Ten title game ended on Saturday night, so our grades on Tuesday morning seem a little late.

Well, it’s true. We are a little behind schedule. Maybe it’s because we forgot how to celebrate a Big Ten championship.

At any rate, we have some extra time before the next Michigan football game, which will be against Georgia on Dec. 31 in the Orange Bowl. The winner plays for the national championship.

We will also start looking at every angle of that game, and also at Aidan Hutchinson’s hopes of winning the Heisman Trophy after getting an invitation.

It’s been a great year to be a Michigan Wolverine and let’s look back at the 12th win.

Offense: A

There were a few stagnant series in the second quarter. Cade McNamara threw an interception while Michigan was moving the ball and that prevented the game from getting out of hand earlier.

The Hawkeyes pinned Michigan deep a few times and the Wolverines, careful to avoid a turnover, played it safe until the second half.

But outside of the second quarter, Michigan scored two touchdowns in each stanza. The Wolverines also racked up more than 460 yards of total offense.

McNamara had a touchdown and an interception, but his one mistake wasn’t even that costly. J.J. McCarthy and Donovan Edwards also made their presence felt, especially Edwards with his touchdown pass and touchdown run.

Blake Corum also set the tone. Running the ball right at Iowa wasn’t going to work like Ohio State. It was going to take some gashes and Corum got one early that set the tone.

You’ve got to respect what the Hawkeyes can do on defense and that’s why the 42-point effort with 461 yards earned an A. (I took points off for the turnover and second-period stagnation).
