2. How will Hunter Dickinson follow up his monster performance?

Hunter Dickinson’s ability in the paint was the difference-maker against San Diego State. Dickinson had one of his best performances of the season against the Aztecs scoring 23 points paired with 14 boards, three assists, and three steals.

A stat line that was underappreciated was Hunter Dickinson’s deep ball. He shot 100% from deep going 3-3 and at one point nearly making Crisler explode due to momentum.

He saw the most minutes he’s played all year against the Aztecs putting in work for 39 minutes (out of 40) and we saw high-level production.

Whether or not Juwan decides to maintain such a high dose of playing time is unclear, but what is clear is that Hunter Dickinson has found his role on this team. Playing through double teams, hyping up the crowd, showing love to his teammates… It’s clear that he’s the true leader of this team.

Dickinson’s success is curated by his ability to get the ball and make plays. Allowing turnovers and getting into foul trouble was just not cutting it, Juwan making a change at point proceeded to be a good chance as Frankie Collins lit up the building with his crafty playmaking, which is exactly what Hunter Dickinson needed.
