Michigan Basketball: Weeks 3 and 4 in Review for the Wolverines
Freshman of the Week
Unsurprisingly, the Freshman of the Week also goes to Caleb Houstan.
On top of his stellar shooting stroke, Houstan flashed an improved ability to get to the rim off the bounce, especially in the win over San Diego State.
That ability to create shots off the dribble is a key element of the Michigan offense that has been lacking this year.
We see a lot of stagnation at times where one player just dribbles until the shot clock dwindles down and a poor shot goes up.
That can’t happen against some of the better teams in the Big Ten and especially in the NCAA Tournament.
Houstan has the potential to become an outstanding second option to preseason All-American Hunter Dickinson, maybe the past three games are just the beginning.
