Saturday, Michigan football defeated Maryland in convincing fashion 59-18 while securing control of their destiny against the team down south this weekend.

Saturday collectively was one of the best football games from Michigan football I have watched in a while. The last time I remember the Wolverines being so dominant offensively and defensively was back when they put the Rutgers program back a few years single-handedly winning 78-0.

Saturday’s win was a team effort but there were some stunning individual performances that are important to shed light upon. I will only be highlighting two individual performances but I believe that everyone played a crucial part in the victory Saturday, so here are some honorable mentions.

Honorable Mentions:

  1. Josh Ross: 8 Tackles, 7 Solo, 1 TFL
  2. Hassan Haskins: 20 Carries 78 Yards 2 TD’s
  3. J.J. McCarthy: 5/5 58 Yards 1 TD

1. Donovan Edwards – 10 Receptions, 170 Yards, 1TD

You may be thinking to yourself, “wow that’s one good receiver!” And that is where you are wrong. Donovan Edwards, freshman, and former 4-Star/5-Star (depending on what you use) from right here in Michigan is actually a Running Back. It’s unclear if they convert him to wide reciever after this monster performance, but I digress.

Edwards played a very critical part in shutting down Maryland’s hope early and late in the game. He made a magnificent 77-yard touchdown on a wheel route.

Donovan Edwards stepped up in a massive way this weekend showcasing his potential to the national stage and most likely cementing himself more of a role on the offense moving forward.
