Michigan Basketball: Week in review for the Wolverines
Freshman of the Week
Another award that has the potential to repeat itself weekly, our first Freshman of the Week will be former five-star Caleb Houstan.
The sharpshooter from Montverde Academy in Florida got off to a hot start against Buffalo and turned in 11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and one steal to hit the ground running in his collegiate career.
After recording another solid outing against Prairie View A&M where he poured in 13 points and 3 rebounds, he ended the week with averages of 12 points, 4.5 rebounds, and one assist.
He also showed off that sweet shooting stroke that we heard so much about leading up to the season as he knocked down 5 of his 12 three-point attempts for a 41.7% rate.
If he can keep up that rate and volume throughout the season, the Wolverines will have an excellent perimeter complement to Dickinson on the interior that will stretch out opposing defenses and create opportunities for other shooters as well.
