When Michigan football fell behind it was hard to have faith but the Wolverines pulled it out.

When the Michigan football team lost an 8-point lead in the fourth quarter and promptly gave the ball back Penn State, you can’t blame Wolverines fans for expecting the worst.

It felt like Michigan State all over again. But this time, Michigan didn’t back down. The defense, it rose to the occasion and held Penn State to three points.

Then, with their Big Ten title hopes hanging in the balance, Cade McNamara put together the biggest drive of his career and found Erick All for the go-ahead score.

There was still a few minutes left and the game felt far from over. But the defense rose to the occasion again and Hassan Haskins put the game on ice with a first down run to improve Michigan to 9-1. The win also keeps the Wolverines hopes alive in the Big Ten and the playoff chase.

Simply put it was one of the biggest wins of Jim Harbaugh’s career and here are the gut reactions:

  • Cade McNamara proved he’s more than a game manager. That was a clutch drive and he may have relegated JJ to the bench for the rest of 2021.
  • Hassan Haskins is an animal. He’s a joy to watch. Michigan doesn’t win without his relentless effort.
  • Aidan Hutchinson should be in Heisman conversation. He’s that dominant.
  • David Ojabo is the second best pass rusher in college football…behind Hutchinson and it’s close.
  • This was a big win. No moving the goal posts.
  • Roman Wilson showed how much he was missed. He’s not talked about enough and is a game-changer when healthy.
  • Erick All isn’t a breakout candidate anymore. Just a DUDE.
  • This Michigan team just might be different. Other Harbaugh teams lose that game.
  • GO BLUE!
