Michigan football wasn’t caught peeking ahead to Michigan State
Although it was close in the opening 30 minutes, the Wolverines never wavered and finished the job against a depleted Northwestern club.
The Cats had one notable play that gave them hope, but Michigan steadied the ship to reemerge on top of Northwestern and comfortably seize the outlook of the battle.
Next week will be a completely different story though when it comes to the pace of the affair.
Both schools will do whatever it takes to claim stake to the Paul Bunyan trophy and bragging rights for the following 365 days. It will undoubtedly be both teams’ toughest test of the season without any hesitation at all.
We're entering the dumbest week of the year: Michigan-Michigan State week. The annual pissing contest where arguments about why your in-state program is better than the other one and will fall on deaf ears.

To conquer the Spartans in Spartan Stadium, Michigan football will have to play mistake-free football and win the rushing battle.
Fortunately for them, that is how the Wolverines are built and how they have been winning all their games this season.
There’s not one ounce of doubt that Jim Harbaugh will have his alma mater ready for the onslaught that will meet them in seven days at Spartan stadium.
