With Damani Dent expected to announce his commitment on Monday, all signs are point towards Michigan football being the choice.

Following a 6-0 start, Michigan football has built momentum on the recruiting trail, despite a recent decommitment and the Wolverines should add to that momentum on Monday.

Three-star safety Damani Dent, a recruit who is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the 2022 class, is choosing between Michigan football, Pittsburgh, and Oregon on Monday morning on CBS Sports Network at 9:30 AM EST according to Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider.

Dent is ranked outside the 1,400 overall in the 247 sports composite rankings. He’s rated as an 83 but he’s an 86 in 247 sports own rankings and if you look at the teams showing interest, you’ll be excited if Michigan is indeed the choice.

According to Lorenz, Dent has made his choice, and here’s what he said about Michigan:

"“With the academics and the program that’s building up, just with coming in, it’s Jim Harbaugh and I like the defensive coordinator really, how the scheme is set up and the different coaches that have come into the facility. I can’t explain it, it’s really different things.”"

Dent is out of Jacksonville, Florida, and was committed to Akron at one time. But then he impressed at the Alabama and Oregon camps, earning an offer from the Ducks, as well as interest from a number of SEC schools — he recently visited Georgia.

And according to what Dent told 247 sports, Nick Saban was very interested.

"“I was at Alabama, I locked up everybody at Alabama camp and did my thing and stood out and they said they had too many spots, spots were closed so Nick couldn’t offer me that day,” Dent explained. He fully reopened his recruitment in August. “They wanted to offer me but they couldn’t offer me. After that, a coach at Alabama knew somebody at Oregon, Coach Chance and he got on me and didn’t hesitate to talk to me.”"

All predictions are for Michigan football

Yet, the Wolverines hosted Dent for the Washington game and have been the crystal ball leader for the 6-foot, 190-pound safety ever since. Here’s a recent highlight — he’s got three interceptions this season.

There are a total of five crystal ball projections that have him choosing Michigan and one of them is from an Oregon recruiting insider, which gives me even more confidence.

EJ Holland, who is the Michigan recruiting insider for Rivals also has a Futurecast pick in for Dent to the Wolverines, so unless they are all wrong, Dent will join Michigan’s 2022 class on Monday.
