Michigan basketball added another four-star recruit to its 2022 class in Gregg Glenn on Tuesday and here’s what the Wolverines are getting.

While Michigan basketball is still aiming for some elite recruits in the 2022 class, the Wolverines added a consensus four-star prospect with the commitment of Gregg Glenn.

Glenn visited Michigan basketball last month with Jett Howard and Dug McDaniel, who is the Wolverines point guard commitment in 2022.

All three of those players are close. Glenn even calls Juwan his uncle and despite some Michigan basketball fans having questions about taking Glenn, Juwan has earned plenty of trust and he obviously is confident in taking Glenn as part of a four or five-man class.

What Michigan basketball is getting

Glenn is 6-foot-7 and is ranked as the No. 109 prospect in the 247 sports composite rankings, but is rated as a four-star by all the major rankings and is 80th overall via 247 sports own rankings.

His profile puts him as a power forward but he’s got the ability to play the three and the four. He’s also not a traditional wing in that one of his best attributes is the ability to create for others. He also does a good job of finishing around the basket, although that will be tougher in the Big Ten.

Glenn has been an up-and-down shooter throughout his high school career and has shot 24 percent from 3-point range during three seasons for Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

However, he has averaged 13.8 points or more in each of his first three seasons. He also grabbed more than six rebounds, dished out 2.2 assists, and has 1.6 steals per game according to Max Preps.

While his perimeter shot is going to need some work, sort of like Terrance Williams, Glenn has talent and with some development, could be a solid role player or even a starter down the road.

Not every commitment is going to be a top-50 kid. But anytime you are landing a top-100 prospect, it’s a solid addition. Glenn isn’t going to be gone after a year or two to the NBA, he will have a chance to develop and can be a multi-year contributor to blend some of the guys destined to leave early for the NBA.

Glenn is close to the Howard family and it looks like he will be in the same class as Jett Howard, who announced on Tuesday he will make his decision next Wednesday.

All the crystal ball projections have Jett going to Michigan basketball and it feels like Juwan has the commitment of his son locked down.
