As Michigan football prepares for its most important game to date against the Wisconsin Badgers, we asked an expert for help in understanding their strengths and weaknesses.

Today we bring to you a new weekly series titled “Behind Enemy Lines”. Each week during this football season we will interview an expert covering Michigan football’s opponent.

This week, in the Wolverines matchup against the Badgers, we bring on Badger of Honor site expert Christian Borman. Christian is a premier source of all things Wisconsin athletics and has been covering the Badgers for an extended period of time.

So settle in, and enjoy our first edition of Behind Enemy Lines, Wisconsin week.

How do Wisconsin fans view Michigan football’s season to date?

I think a lot of Wisconsin fans aren’t completely sold on Michigan yet. They’ve had some nice wins, but it’s hard to trust Michigan after the past couple of years. If Wisconsin’s offense was playing even a little better, I think Wisconsin fans would be fairly confident going into this game. I think the game this weekend will be a nice indicator of where Michigan really is this year.

How do you expect Wisconsin to respond following their blowout loss to Notre Dame?

I would say I’d expect them to come out firing on against Michigan, but this team hasn’t shown the ability to do that. The defense is going to be great, as they have been in each of the games this year. But the offense just can’t get it going.

After another dismal performance by Mertz, I think the Badgers are going to lean on the running game against the Wolverines. Hopefully, for Wisconsin fan’s sake, they’ll get some things figured out and come out hot. But I think most fans are accepting the fact that this offense just doesn’t have it.
