After a dominating win over Washington and a successful weekend of recruiting, Michigan football is poised to flip a Notre Dame commitment in 2022, as well as others.

If Michigan football fans were to check the crystal ball trends following this past weekend’s loaded slate of visitors, they would be very excited.

Michigan football has clear momentum on the recruiting trail and while it still needs to close with some of these recruits, it feels like that will happen sooner rather than later.

Recruiting experts for 247 sports have been busy this week projecting recruits to the Wolverines. We broke down some of the latest crystal balls on Wednesday as Michigan football was projected to pick up five-star OT Josh Conerly and three-star defensive tackle Kenneth Grant.

Those picks were made by Steve Wiltfong and Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider later joined him on both. EJ Holland of Rivals has projected both to U-M too, making it three expert predictions now for Conerly and Grant to Michigan.

However, there is even more to be excited about.

Michigan has been working on flipping three-star defensive back/wide receiver Amorion Walker, a 2022 Notre Dame commitment and according to Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider and his crystal ball projection, that flip is going to happen.

Webb used a crystal ball with a confidence level of seven after Walker was on campus this past weekend. The 6-foot-4, 175-pounder is ranked 538th overall and looks like a safety for U-M.

Walker would help fill the void left by Dillon Tatum as he is a Michigan State lean and isn’t being recruited anymore. But wait, there’s more.

Damani Dent, a fast-rising three-star recruit was also projected to the Wolverines by Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider. He’s ranked outside the top 1,000, but Oregon is interested and he’s visiting Georgia this week.

Yet, the Wolverines appear to be in a solid position after this visit and right now, he has a commitment date set for Oct. 10. Georgia worries me though.

Another projected flip

While Michigan football fans are hoping the Wolverines will be able to flip five-star cornerback Domani Jackson, it’s going to take some time.

However, when it comes to Boise State commitment Mason Graham, the Wolverines are now being projected to flip him too by 247 sports’ west coast recruiting expert Greg Biggins. Webb has also projected Graham to Michigan with a confidence level of eight.

Graham visited over the weekend and raved about it on social media. He’s also been dominant so far this season out in Califonia, especially as an interior pass rusher with five sacks in his first two games.

Graham, Grant, and Walker all seem ready to decide sooner rather than later, along with Dent. Joshua Josephs had a decision date for Oct. 1 and has multiple picks to Michigan too.

Conerly is trending hard to Michigan also, but he’s talked about deciding in January. But soon, a commitment drought that has lasted since July, will be coming to an end.
