Coming off of a less than stellar 2020 season, Michigan football has many questions to answer and a long row to hoe on their return to relevancy.  Can they start the season with a win against Western Michigan?

If the Wolverines want to rebound from that disappointing campaign, it’s time to start throttling teams in these winnable games. The first step on that path is to beat in-state directional school, the Western Michigan Broncos.

Western Michigan comes off a 4-2 record that would see them finish third overall in the MAC. The 2020 season saw the Broncos feature a top ten offense, and this year return key studs at quarterback and running back from that same group. Tim Lester has also kept the success that former head coach P.J. Fleck built and currently sits at 24-20 over his tenure in Kalamazoo.

With a potent offense, great coaching, and hunger for the win the Broncos will no doubt be out for blood and looking for the upset come Saturday.

It’s critical for Michigan football to not only avoid the potential upset and get the 2021 campaign started on the right foot but to put on a clinic that builds the momentum needed for a successful season.

That being said, what are the three keys to victory Saturday? Let’s get into it.
