Michigan basketball is the heavy favorite for Jett Howard in the 2022 recruiting class and now more experts are projecting him to the Wolverines.

With the commitments, this summer of point guard Dug McDaniel and center Tarris Reed Jr., Michigan basketball is off to a strong start in the 2022 recruiting class.

Juwan Howard and the Wolverines may not end up with the No. 1 ranked class as they did in 2021, but that doesn’t matter.

The key is adding the right players to the program and Juwan has found the sweet spot. Michigan is still in the mix for plenty of elite talents, however, Howard has also done an exceptional job of finding top-100 talents, who can contribute for more than just a year or two.

Point guard and center were big needs in the 2022 class and while McDaniel and Reed are ranked outside the top 50 right now, there’s a strong chance that will change.

And if Jett Howard eventually commits as expected, it would give the Wolverines an elite scoring wing to go along with a 6-foot-10 big and a dynamic point guard in McDaniel.

More expert projections for Michigan basketball

Jett recently released a top-seven list that obviously included the Wolverines and set a visit schedule that includes North Carolina State, Tennesee, and Georgetown. Vanderbilt, LSU, and Florida also made the top seven.

Michigan basketball is going to get a visit on Sept. 18, before Jett will visit the Hoyas. But the Wolverines are still the strong favorite and just in the last week, two more experts put in crystal ball predictions for Howard to land at U-M.

The most recent projections came from Vanderbilt and Kentucky Insiders, who are going to be closer to SEC recruiting.

Numerous national and Michigan experts have also put in picks for Michigan such as Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider and Jerry Meyer, 247 sports national director of recruiting.

That makes it nine projections total to U-M with a confidence level of seven on a scale of 1-10, so as we get closer to the visit schedule, it still feels like a formality that Juwan will earn his son’s commitment in the 2022 class.
