3-star DT Tawfiq Thomas

Michigan football is really focused on defensive tackles this cycle and for the new defense being run by Mike Macdonald, it might be the most important need to fill in this class.

Adding Walker would be huge because right now, following the decommitment of Davonte Miles earlier this month, the Wolverines don’t have any defensive tackle commitments in 2022.

However, that could change soon. One big man interested in the Wolverines is three-star Tawfiq Thomas. He visited Ann Arbor in July and put Michigan in his top five recently.

The 6-foot-3, 360-pounder (according to 247) is ranked outside the top 1,000 (1,026) according to the composite rankings, yet Rivals has a much higher view of him. Rivals’ Michigan expert EJ Holland also recently projected Thomas to the Wolverines.

Thomas plays with Eugenio and the edge rusher tweeted that he had good news for Michigan football fans. It seems like that news was referring to Thomas, who would help fill that need in the middle if he decides to commit.
