Michigan Football: Final depth chart predictions before fall camp
WR1’s: Ronnie Bell, Cornelius Johnson, Daylen Baldwin: WR2’s: Mike Sainristil, A.J. Henning, Roman Wilson, Andrel Anthony
Ronnie Bell is the top dog of the wide receivers and is back after 26 receptions for over 400 yards last season. Cornelius Johnson caught 16 passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns, meaning the top two receivers are back and they will start.
Johnson is a candidate for a breakout season and he seems to have a strong rapport with McNamara. Daylen Baldwin, the transfer from Jackson State, has also made an early impression, and with his size, and ability to stretch the field, I believe he will be the other starting wideout.
Here’s what Josh Gattis recently said to the Michigan Insider about Baldwin and his receivers:
"“The guys love him. He jumped right into the receiver room with open arms. Everyone embraced him. There’s not enough great things that have been said about him. Everyone is saying the same thing. Everyone loves him and everyone is excited about him. Obviously, they limit our ability to coach them or be out there when they’re running routes. From what I hear, all is well. I’m kinda like a kid at Christmas, I’m waiting to unwrap the present on the first day of training camp shows up.”"
Mike Sainristil is also going to have a role this season, as will A.J. Henning and Roman Wilson, who did some good things as a freshman a year ago. This group is solid from top to bottom, and with Andrel Anthony also potentially earning some playing time.
TE1: Erick All; TE2: Louis Hansen
Erick All was a disappointment last season and his biggest issue was with the drops. He’s got all the tools to be a really solid pass-catcher and he’s not a bad blocker either. All is another player that needs to reach his potential for the Wolverines this season.
If All isn’t able to take that step this season, watch out for freshman tight end Louis Hansen. He doesn’t get talked about as much as McCarthy or Edwards, but he’s really athletic and it’s pretty clear the Wolverines are expecting him to contribute this season.
