Michigan football got some good news in terms of some recruits that will visit the Wolverines recruiting BBQ later this month.

In roughly two weeks, Michigan football will have the BBQ at the Big House, its biggest recruiting event of the summer. We will have more extensive coverage leading up to it, but the visitors list is starting to take shape.

A quartet of in-state prospects has been confirmed as visitors

2023 four-star offensive lineman Amir Herring (West Bloomfield, MI/ West Bloomfield) has been confirmed by 247 sports as one of the attendees. Herring is a top target for the Wolverines and he has already been on campus numerous times.

Michigan holds a commanding lead on his crystal ball with all five predictions to this point. Herring is the 157th overall prospect in the 2023 cycle to this point.

His teammate speedy 2023 WR Semaj Morgan will be joining him. Morgan is electric in space and reminds me of KJ Hamler at the same stage. He earned an offer on impressive camp performance last month and currently has Michigan as one of his top schools. He is currently ranked as a three-star prospect by 247sports.

Last cycle, four-star offensive tackle Garrett Dellinger was a top target for the Wolverines and it appears his younger brother will be as well. 2023 four-star two-way linemen Cole Dellinger will also be in Ann Arbor for the barbecue.

Cole Dellinger already has a Michigan offer, as well as LSU, where his brother committed. It remains to be seen how much of a factor the Tigers will be in this race.

At 6-foot-4, Cole is not as long as his brother Garrett (6-foot-6) and he is seen as more of an interior offensive lineman prospect. He plays defensive tackle as well and is ranked as the 272nd overall prospect in the 2023 class.

There is an intriguing crop of quarterbacks in the state of Michigan that will be developing over the next few years.

2024 quarterback Isaiah Marshall is certainly one of them and he will visit for the BBQ. Marshall has been on the Michigan radar for a while as the Wolverines extended his first offer back when he was in middle school. He is also a cousin of former Wolverine defensive lineman Lawrence Marshall.

Rising OT set to visit

Michigan already has commitments from two offensive tackles in its 2022 class, Alessandro Lorenezetti, and Conor Jones. One prospect the Wolverines would love to add is three-star Falentha Carswell.

Though he is ranked as a three-star, Carswell’s upside is through the roof. At 6-foot-7 and 275, he has the prototypical frame that coaches dream of combined with nimble feet from his time on the hardwood. Carswell already has a slew of big-time offers despite the fact that he started playing football this spring.

Carswell will also be in attendance for the BBQ according to the Michigan Insider (subscription required) and it will be an important visit for the Wolverines.

He is planning on making a decision this summer and is trending to Miami with two crystal ball picks. Oregon is in the mix as well.

Michigan usually excels when hosting recruits on campus. We will have to wait and see if this is another example and if the Wolverines are able to gain momentum in Carswell recruitment before he makes his decision.
