Kody Jones, a Michigan football commit in the 2022 class decided to push back his official visit and it could be a good thing for the Wolverines.

Kody Jones was scheduled to take his first visit to Michigan this weekend. It would have been his first visit to Michigan football since he gave his commitment to the Wolverines. However, the four-star ATH took a visit in-state Tennessee on Saturday.

Tennessee has been among the programs pushing Michigan for a flip. He would be a nice coup as first-year coach Josh Heupel looks to rebuild the Volunteers. However, as Lee Corso would say, “Not so fast my friend!”

While Jones did not make it up to Ann Arbor this weekend, he will instead visit Michigan next weekend. Next weekend Michigan football will have its “Victors Weekend” and will host many top targets on campus.

Five-star DL Walter Nolen, five-star CB commit Will Johnson and four-star DL Justice Finkley are among some of the notable names scheduled to visit. As we’ve mentioned, Nolen is a childhood friend of Jones. This situation could easily work to Michigan’s benefit.

Jones will have the opportunity to experience campus and bond with a loaded group of visitors that could be his future teammates. He can also serve the role of a recruiter, specifically with Walter Nolen.

Michigan has some work to do to land Nolen.

We all know that he is going to be a tough pull out of the South with Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and LSU among his top schools.

However, when it comes to a player of Nolen’s caliber, all hands on deck are needed to land him. It just so happens that the Wolverines will have the opportunity to simultaneously secure Jones’ pledge in the process.
