Dickinson/Wagner need to show out

There’s a reason that Franz Wagner is being talked about as a top-10 pick in the 2021 NBA draft and he showed that off in the final few minutes against LSU.

If Wagner plays like that for the 30 minutes and change he’s on the floor Sunday, that’s going to make it awfully difficult on Florida State.

Yet, as simple as it sounds, a lot of times, it comes down to your big-time players stepping up and that’s what Michigan needs. This will be a stern test for Dickinson, who will be guarded by another 7-footer, bigger guards than usual on switches, and will be swarmed by double teams.

When Dickinson keeps his composure and is able to find open teammates, he can be lethal passing out of double teams. He will also need to score inside too and be great on the glass, especially if U-M winds up using some zone looks.

Hopefully, Wagner and Dickinson both play up to their potential on Sunday, because without big games from them, advancing past Florida State becomes much more difficult.
