Here’s a final look at Michigan basketball’s win over LSU, plus the Wolverines women also advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time ever.

One day later, it’s still hard not to be on cloud nine as a Michigan basketball fan, especially after the women’s team made history Tuesday night.

Less than 24 hours after the men’s team beat LSU to clinch a fourth straight berth in the Sweet 16, the Michigan women’s team did something it had never done before — reach the Sweet 16.

Kim Amico Barnes took over a program that was one of the worst in the Big Ten and now, it’s one of the best. Tuesday, the sixth-seeded Wolverines upset Tennessee.

All-American Naz Hillmon had a double-double and the Wolverines, like their male counterparts, will move on to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament.

So it’s a great time to be a Wolverine. And now, here’s a look back at the win over LSU with grades for each individual player.

Bigs

Hunter Dickinson: A-

Dickinson had a really strong performance and did exactly what Michigan basketball needed him to do. His defense was really good and his individual points per possession rating (105.0) was the second-lowest on the team. His length mattered, he did a great job in space and was really good on the boards in the second half, finishing with 11. The big man finished with 12 points but was more important due to his three assists and ball movement. He had some silly offensive fouls, but other than that, he delivered.

Brandon Johns: A-

Johns really should get a lot of credit. He’s done his job since replacing Isaiah Livers and he made a much bigger impact than his seven points might indicate. Johns grabbed five boards, blocked two shots, had a steal and affected a ton of shots with his length. He was also physical inside on offense and scored seven points. He could have shot the ball better but he was solid.

Austin Davis: C

This was a tough matchup for Austin Davis. When he was on the floor, he didn’t really get touches inside and he picked up some quick fouls. He only scored one point and grabbed one rebound. However, his effort in his nine minutes was top notch and he still brought a solid presence.
