Michigan basketball is playing Texas Southern in the second round of the NCAA Tournament and here’s how to watch, stream and listen.

As the top seed in the East Region, Michigan basketball didn’t know its opponent in the NCAA Tournament until after the first four game between Texas Southern and Mt. Saint Mary’s.

Texas Southern rallied and won the game, which makes the Tigers the No. 16 seed in the region. The Wolverines, which entered the tournament as the No. 2 in the Kenpom rankings will face Texas Southern, which is ranked 220th in the same metric.

The Tigers are actually the worst team in the tournament according to Kenpom, which probably means that somehow this will be a competitive game Saturday. That’s March Madness in a nutshell. Crazy things happen and in a 40-minute game, a few errors or fouls could be the difference between winning and going home.

The Wolverines are a veteran team, but many of their players haven’t played a ton in the NCAA tournament. Franz Wagner was just a freshman in 2020, while Chaundee Brown and Mike Smith never played in the NCAA Tournament at Wake Forest or Columbia.

Eli Brooks is certainly a veteran of the tournament, yet there could be some jitters, especially with Isaiah Livers out of the lineup.

The nice thing is that Michigan isn’t facing nearly as good a team as it did in previous years, even as a No. 2 seed.

But the bad thing about facing a team with a win under its belt is that it could lead to a fast start for them, while you are getting acclimated to the tournament.

Those are all things to watch. However, unless some strange things happen, Michigan should win with ease. Texas Southern doesn’t have any size and isn’t a 3-point shooting team.

The Tigers shoot the ball well inside, but Michigan defends really well and forces teams to take tough 2-point attempts, as well as very few 3-pointers.

We’ll see if the matchup plays out how it is supposed to, but here is how to watch, listen and stream:
