Michigan Basketball: 5 Reasons Wolverines can make Final Four
3-point shooting
Certainly, this would be a bigger strength if Isaiah Livers, the best 3-point shooter on the team was able to play in this tournament.
But even without Livers, Michigan has some very capable perimeter shooters. Chaundee Brown, who should see an increase in playing time with Livers out, is one of those guys. He’s not as consistent as Livers, but if he shoots the ball well, the Wolverines will be hard to guard.
Beyond that, Michigan can surround center Hunter Dickinson with a number of shooters. Brown is one of them. There is also Franz Wagner, Smith, Brandon Johns and Eli Brooks. All of those guys shoot better than 35 percent from deep.
Johns can be a very streaky shooter but if he happens to be shooting the ball well, the Wolverines won’t miss Livers as much.
The issue is that Livers was so good at shooting the 3-point shot from so many spots. He could do it in transition, out of a pass from the block and in the half-court offense.
But, Michigan still has more than enough shooters to be dangerous.
