Michigan Basketball: 5 Bold predictions for Wolverines in March Madness
Final destination
After the first weekend, Michigan basketball is really going to miss Livers and at that point, just about every team in the mix is a legitimate contender for the Final Four.
Michigan basketball will likely face Florida State if the Wolverines manage to advance that far and that’s a team that won’t be intimidated by Michigan’s size up front.
The Noles and Wolverines met in the Elite 8 in 2018. It was a hard-fought defensive game and I think this would be similar. I’ll give the Wolverines the edge here and maybe having Brandon Johns will help in this matchup, but an upset wouldn’t surprise me at all.
In the end, I think Michigan will bow out in the Elite 8. It will be a great run and the Wolverines won’t go down without a fight. But Alabama just seems to have more momentum and a little more scoring balance right now.
It will be hard for the Crimson Tide to guard Dickinson, but that could lead to a bunch of double teams and it might all come down to the Wolverines ability to hit 3-pointers.
And without their best 3-point shooter, I just don’t see them reaching the Final Four.
