Franz breaks out

This postseason run will likely be it for Franz Wagner as a Michigan basketball player. He is likely headed to the NBA draft where he will be a first-round pick and maybe even a lottery selection.

A lot of that depends on what he does these next few weeks. For my money though, I think Franz has a really good postseason and has a breakout performance.

I hesitate to call it a breakout performance because Wagner was Second-Team All Big-Ten and he’s being talked about as a first-round draft pick, maybe more, with his 6-foot-9 frame, ability to score the ball and his status as an elite defender.

Franz should have been the Defensive Player of the Year in the Big Ten or at least a First-Team All-Defense selection. He got robbed and he will show in March why he’s one of the best two-way players in the country, not just the Big Ten.
