It wasn’t a great day for every former Michigan football player, but for the one people know best, Tom Brady, it was just another display of why he’s the best football player to ever live.

After beating Drew Brees last week, Brady went on the road, at the age of 43 years old and defeated Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers to earn a trip to a 10th Super Bowl.

It’s pretty incredible for a guy who almost didn’t receive a scholarship offer from Michigan football and was picked in the sixth round of the NFL draft.

It seems like he wanted to prove he could win without Bill Belichick and he was able to do that. Whether or not the Bucs are able to beat the Chiefs, he took a team that was 7-9 a year ago and helped it reach the Super Bowl.

He threw three interceptions Sunday, but he also threw three touchdowns and threw for 280 yards. His hot start set the tone and he made plays when needed, at least more than Aaron Rodgers did.

His QBR was also 75 and he was just exceptional on third down, except for the interceptions in the second half but even a couple of those were basically just punts and led to zero points.

It’s hard to see anyone beating the Kansas City Chiefs right now, but most people also didn’t expect to see Tom Brady back in the Super Bowl, so bet against him at your own caution.

Another Michigan football player will play on Super Sunday

Joining Brady on Super Bowl Sunday will be another former Michigan football player and that’s Frank Clark, who won a championship with KC last season and is back again.

Clark was a second-round pick after a solid career with the Wolverines and on Sunday, he proved why he’s one of the NFL’s best pass rushers as he notched two sacks in the Chiefs win over the Bills.

Clark has 50 career sacks in 91 games and more than 200 total tackles. He will also have a chance to win a second Super Bowl trophy and will need to sack another Michigan alum in order to make it happen.

Either way, Michigan fans will get a chance to watch some former Wolverines in the big game in two weeks.
