Michigan wins a very close game

Once again, based on matchups alone, I think this will be one of Michigan’s toughest games of the season. Not only will Michigan’s big men likely struggle to matchup with the bigs from Wisconsin, but Michigan’s smaller guards could struggle staying in front of Trice and Davison.

One position that Michigan basketball has the overwhelming advantage at is the wing spot. I expect Franz Wagner and Isaiah Livers to both show out and carry Michigan to a big time home win.

Dickinson should still get his points on the offense and if he’s able to defend even just a little bit, I expect Michigan to get the win. Another area that Michigan will have to do well is defending the 3-point line.

Wisconsin ranks 4th in the country in 3-point shooting percentage. All five guys can knock down threes. Isaiah Livers preached the importance of closing out strong while speaking to the media today.

Wisconsin has seven guys that average 15 or more minutes per game that shoot it at 35% or better from three. Everyone is a threat to knock down a three at any given time.

Wisconsin is the more experienced team. They were picked to finish higher in the conference this season. But right now, Michigan is playing better and looks to be the more talented team. I think Michigan’s play from the wing spot will be the difference and they will win a close game that goes down to the wire.
