Michigan basketball was supposed to play North Carolina State Wednesday, but instead the Wolverines will host Toledo. Here are three predictions.

For resume purposes, the Michigan basketball team missed out on a big opportunity Wednesday night as the North Carolina State Wolfpack were unable to make the scheduled game.

NC State had positive cases in its program, which also led to another game being canceled. For Michigan basketball, it means not taking part in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge but also missing the chance to play a team ranked 38th according to Kenpom.

That was the one chance Michigan had to notch an impressive win in non-conference play and now unless somehow, another game is scheduled that is basically out the window.

However, adding Toledo at late notice will be a good test, as the Rockets are still a quality team and ranked 102nd in the Kenpom rankings, the highest of any U-M opponent so far.

The Rockets are also a very different challenge than some of the teams Michigan has already faced as they can flat-out shoot the basketball.

In five games this season, Toledo is making 40 percent of its shots from beyond the arc. They are attempting over 27 3-pointers a game and making 11.

Dylan Burkhardt of UMHoops ($) compares Toledo a lot to a John Beilein coached team and it’s one that will be tough to prepare for in just a manner of days.

Toledo does have two losses but they came by single digits to Bradley and Xavier. The Rockets also rolled Oakland by 27. So we should have a competitive game and here are the predictions.
