The Michigan football team lost to winless Penn State on Saturday. After another poor performance, how did the offense grade out?

Penn State came into Saturday’s game winless, while the Wolverines looked to possibly have their answer at quarterback in Cade McNamara. But after the game, the Nittany Lions had their first win and Michigan football was starting to wonder if they would ever find a quarterback.

The defense made the Nittany Lions rushing attack look amazing and the offense once again let the team down. It was a bad performance all around and one that had fans scratching their heads once again.

It took me a full day to fully understand what just happened and to not just give everyone an F. While it may seem like the whole offense deserved an F, not everything was bad. So let’s not waste anymore time and just get with the grades

Offensive Line – C+

To be honest, the offensive line really wasn’t that bad against Penn State. That is until the Wolverines go to any down and short. Then its like they forgot how to block or couldn’t handle the pressure.

In Michigan’s first drive they gave time to McNamara and opened holes for Hassan Haskins to run through. Wouldn’t you know, that drive ended in a touchdown.

After that they continued to keep McNamara off the turf, but when they got to short yardage situations it was another story.

They had second and short in the third and it took three downs to get the first down and that was only because of Haskins making a really good play.

Then there was the fourth down play late in the fourth where the Wolverines needed inches and couldn’t get it. (It may had more to do with how Joe Milton did the sneak but that is another story). But they still didn’t get any push on that play.

They played ok, but not great so we stick them with a middle of the road grade.
