Michigan Football: 5 Predictions for Wolverines against Penn State
Who wins?
It’s hard to know what we’ll see from this Michigan football team. Does McNamara being in the lineup make that big of a difference because before he entered the fray, U-M was down 17-0 to Rutgers, so this isn’t a gimme.
James Franklin would love nothing more than to even his career record against Jim Harbaugh and score his first win in the Big House. Penn State’s last two trips to Ann Arbor have been ugly beatdowns but those 2016 and 2018 Michigan football teams were Harbaugh’s best.
This 2020 team is just trying to fight its way back to .500 which it will achieve with a win Saturday. Hopefully, the Wolverines found something in McNamara and I believe they did. I also think the coaching staff finally realized Hassan Haskins and Zach Charbonnet need the ball more.
Iowa beat up Penn State last week on the road and Michigan needs to establish the line of scrimmage. If the Wolverines can do that and keep some of the pressure off of McNamara, Cade should shine and if he plays well, U-M is going to win the game.
My belief is that McNamara is going to have another standout game this week and the Wolverines will build on their momentum from Rutgers with another win, although it won’t be easy.
Final score: Michigan 31, Penn State 24
