Michigan Basketball: 3 Predictions for Wolverines against Bowling Green
Wagner and Livers go off
One thing about Bowling Green is that it wasn’t the best defensive team a year ago and ranked 273rd in the NCAA in points allowed last season. They also ranked 168th in opponents 3-point percentage and you can see the Wolverines shooting a bunch of triples tomorrow.
When you look at the Bowling Green roster, the immediate question is who is going to guard Wagner and Livers? If we believe Phil Martelli, Wagner is now 6-foot-10 and that’s going to be extremely tough for teams to handle.
Not only is Franz an accomplished scorer inside, at least he was last season, if he can shoot around 40 percent from 3-point range, he should be nearly unstoppable and against a smaller roster, Wagner and Livers should get plenty of good looks.
It should also provide us an opportunity to see how often those players will be used in ball-screen situations. Livers had five assists in the scrimmage last Friday and those two should play off each other quite well, along with Brown, Brooks, Smith, Davis and Dickinson.
