For the third week in a row, Michigan Football put on an abysmal performance. Wisconsin thoroughly and explicitly stated the Grand Canyon-like gap that lies between Big Ten contenders and this year’s Michigan Wolverines.

As we did last week, we will be taking a look at three Michigan football players who played well and three who did not against Wisconsin. Coming up with three players who had games to forget was easy this time around — finding three standout performers is another story.

There were a select few bright spots from Saturday. Some of them were not on the field though. One example is incoming 5-star QB JJ McCarthy who, despite many logical concerns about his, and other 2021 commits and targets, allegiance to the Wolverines, reassured the Maize and Blue faithful on Twitter after the game to practice patience.

McCarthy is a heck of a leader and Michigan football needs that now more than ever. If Joe Milton or Cade McNamara prove not to be the long term answer at quarterback for the Wolverines, maybe McCarthy can come to Ann Arbor and fight for a day one starting spot next season.

Regardless, Michigan football is in a tough spot right now, as Jim Harbaugh alluded to Saturday night in his press conference. There aren’t a lot of answers in Ann Arbor right now, but before we look ahead to the next week, here’s a deeper look at some of the individual performances we saw.

Let’s take a look at our Studs and Duds for this week.
