The Michigan football team suffered yet another humbling loss on Saturday. As we reflect on the game we take a look at what is wrong with the Wolverines.

This wasn’t how this Michigan football season was supposed to go. If you really looked deep you knew the Wolverines were young and had to replace a lot of players, but there was a still some promise to this team.

Then they went out and thoroughly dominated what we thought was a good Minnesota team. The offense looked good, the defense looked serviceable in their blowout win. The Wolverines were flying high heading into their rivalry game against a Michigan State who just got embarrassed by Rutgers.

The looked listless and lost that game, but hey its a rivalry game and weird things happen in those games. Then there was what was going to be a bounce back game against IU. But another lackluster performance, but hey this is the best Indiana team in maybe ever.

We can explain those two losses, but we got Wisconsin who hadn’t played in three weeks and we always beat them at home. Give up the first 28 points before a first down and all of sudden this is starting to look like the Rich Rod era.

Was Wisconsin better than the Wolverines on paper? Yes they were, but not this much better. Joe Milton threw an interception on his first two passes, which included the first offensive play of  the game and it was pretty much over from there.

So what went so terribly wrong with this team and how did we get here. There were signs of a very good team last year after their loss to Wisconsin and the first quarter of Penn State. Something had clicked and they were playing much better. But that hasn’t carried over to this year and it is somewhat baffling as to why.

Yes they lost their top two receivers, their quarterback (whether you liked him or not), and their best offensive lineman, but this is on another level.

This season is pretty much over before it really began, but they have winnable games coming up. Even if they win those games, some things must change. So we take a dive into what is wrong with the Wolverines right now.
