For the third consecutive week Michigan football came out unenthusiastic and fell at home to an over antsy Wisconsin program who wanted to make a statement.

Michigan football‘s defense hunkered down and forced a three and out for the offense to take center stage to kick things off.

Unfortunately it didn’t last long after that early momentum swing. Joe Milton threw an interception on his first pass play leading to a short Wisconsin scoring drive. On the second offensive series Milton put it right between the numbers of a Badger defender and it was 14-0 right off the bat.

Josh Gattis couldn’t dial up a first down until the midway point of the second quarter and Michigan football finished with a total of 10 for the outing.

The proverbial nail in the coffin got planted quicker than a hiccup. They got doubled up in time of possession and dominated on the scoreboard. Nothing is working for Gattis and the upcoming schedule doesn’t get an easier for him.

Don Brown’s beleaguered defense didn’t do much to help his case either. The Wolverines gave up two more long touchdown drives to trail 28-0 at halftime.

Ultimately they surrendered 49 when the dust finally settled and it turned out to be one of the most lopsided performances of his rapidly declining regime.

There were no bright spots to take out of the beating Michigan football received on the evening.

Wisconsin marched into the Big House and put the Wolverines in even more misery than they can handle right now. Graham Mertz wasn’t as precise as he was in their opener, but he didn’t have to do much with an all around team effort backing him up.

It was an awful night for U-M and here are three takeaways.
