Michigan Football: Roundtable predictions for Wolverines and Wisconsin
By Nick Popio
Staff members of the GBMWolverine.com staff voices their opinions on how Saturday night’s showdown between Michigan football and Wisconsin.
Things look bleak right now for the Michigan football team and they may get worse when Wisconsin strolls into the Big House Saturday night.
The Badgers haven’t played in three weeks, but showcased themselves quite well in their lone victory over Illinois. On the other hand Michigan football is just trying to stop the bleeding from getting to an out of control level. Here’s what some of the guy’s think will happen in this one.
Chris Peterson: Wisconsin 31 Michigan 27
Wisconsin hasn’t played for a couple of weeks and I think that will help a Michigan team desperate for a win. The Wolverines will play with more urgency and will even get a lead in this one. I actually think it will be a competitive game for four quarters but a late touchdown by the Badgers sends Michigan football to 1-3 on the season.
Adam Childs: Michigan 24 , Wisconsin 21
Wisconsin hasn’t played in three weeks, and at times it seems like Michigan hasn’t either. Wisconsin still is not sure who is going to be out there for them under center and that could be the difference in the game.
Michigan football tends to play well against Wisconsin every other year as this is a good year. We can break the game down more but it comes down to Michigan is desperate and I think they do just enough.

Whether Graham Mertz plays or not may certainly decide the outcome of this showdown. I am expecting him to give it a go and that will be the difference in the final score. If for some reason he is not cleared to suit up, then I think Michigan has a real chance to get a much needed win over a Chase Wolf or Danny Vanden Boom led squad.
Jared Dettmer: Wisconsin 38, Michigan 31
On paper, this game looks to be headed for another demoralizing Wolverine loss to lead the Maize and Blue further down into the abyss that is the 2020 season.
However, I think there is a chance — an ever so slight one, admittedly — that Michigan Football flips the script here. Harbaugh has yet to lose at home to anyone other than MSU and OSU, the Wisconsin Badgers are coming off a two week COVID layoff and could be rusty, and the Wolverines certainly have all of the motivation in the world to get back on track here.
This game should be close and it really hinges on Badger QB Graham Mertz’s status but I’ll take Wisconsin because this Michigan team is just different this year — in the worst way possible.
