The Michigan basketball program has been one of the most successful programs in college hoops over the past decade. Conference championships, deep tournament runs, and top draft picks have made these last ten years special for the Wolverines.

So before the new 2020-21 season gets underway, I wanted to take some time to look back at the players who made being a Michigan basketball fan so fun over the last ten seasons.

Over the course of this article, I will be ranking the top 10 Michigan basketball players since 2010. My criteria for this list was simple. You had to play at least two seasons for Michigan and at least half of your career had to be spent in 2010 or after. This would disqualify a player like Manny Harris for example.

Before we get into the top ten list, let’s start off with some honorable mentions.

Isaiah Livers

Livers is getting ready to start his senior season for the Wolverines and if he has a statement year, he could find himself on this top ten list after the season. His sharpshooting, monster dunks, and leadership have been so fun to watch over his career.

Jon Teske

Jon Teske graduated after last season and had a really underrated career. He was part of a duo with Xavier Simpson that won 108 games in their careers. Teske developed into a great rim protector and leader after taking over for Moe Wagner. Despite struggles at time during his last season, Teske, along with Simpson was the heart and soul of the team during his time at Michigan.

DJ Wilson

It took Wilson a few years to develop and get comfortable with the speed of the college game. But when he did, he was a force and a big part of the Michigan basketball team. During his junior season, Wilson started 36 games while averaging 11 points and nearly 6 rebounds per game.

Duncan Robinson

After watching what kind of impact Robinson is having in the NBA, it’s hard to imagine him not being on this top ten list. He had an up and down career at Michigan but his 3-point shooting was a valuable piece for the Wolverines over the course of his career.

McGary/GRIII/Spike

I lumped these three together because they were all part of that 2012 recruiting class but didn’t quite make my top ten list.

These three guys were instrumental not only to the national championship game appearance in 2013, but also for the run the following season and they helped put Michigan basketball back on the map. If McGary or Robinson III would have stayed longer, it’s a safe bet to assume they would be on this list.

Those are the honorable mentions. Let’s get into the list starting with number 10.
