Charbonnet, running backs will steal the show

If you have followed any of our coverage leading up to the season, you will know that I’m extremely high on Zach Charbonnet and what he can do this season and Saturday night, he will get things rolling with a 100-yard outing.

Charbonnet was good as a freshman, but he was a shell of himself due to injury and now that he’s healthy, he’s due for a breakout season. Even if the season is just 10 games, 1,000 yards is a realistic goal.

Unfortunately for Minnesota, Charbonnet isn’t the only weapon in a very deep backfield. Hassan Haskins was solid last year too and he’s the No. 3 behind Chris Evans, while standout true freshman Blake Corum is the No. 4 guy and also expected to make an impact.

Michigan has two powerful runners in Charbonnet and Haskins, as well as Evans and Corum who can do just as much damage receiving as running.

I’d love to see and fully expect the backs to play a big role in the gameplan, both with rushing attempts and easy throws to Evans/Corum.

Milton will have a solid first start, but Charbonnet will steal the show and the Wolverines will rack up more yards running than passing.
