3 Reasons Michigan Football will beat Minnesota and one why it won’t
Michigan football is the slight favorite Saturday night against Minnesota and here’s three reasons the Wolverines will win, plus one why they won’t.
The long wait for Michigan football will finally be over on Saturday night, as the Wolverines will take on Minnesota for the first time since the 2017 season for the Little Brown Jug.
For the most part, the Wolverines have owned this rivalry with the Gophers winning just two games against Michigan football since 1987. The last win though came in Ann Arbor, back in 2014, in the final season under head coach Brady Hoke.
But following one of the best season’s in program history, one that finished at 11-2 and with a win over Auburn in the bowl season, these aren’t your fathers Golden Gophers.
Both teams are ranked in the top 25 and even though the Wolverines are a 2.5 point favorite according to Fan Duel, this game basically feels like a toss-up and for Michigan, the pressure is really on, especially with College Gameday in attendance and the game in prime time.
New starting quarterback Joe Milton, assuming he’s the starter because Jim Harbaugh hasn’t officially named him yet, has been getting lots of hype and Nico Collins added to it when he said that he could see Milton being the No. 1 pick someday, something Adam Schefter said once too.
Yet, Saturday is still going to be his first start and it’s looking like there could be snow in the forecast, which will only add to the intrigue. A good snow game is always fun right?
As for Michigan football, there are some solid reasons to feel confident heading into this top-25 matchup, but also areas for concern, so here’s three reasons why the Wolverines will win the Big Ten opener and one reason why they might lose it.
