A number of Michigan football recruits will be taking self-guided visits to Ann Arbor including the top overall cornerback in 2022.

Nobody knows when recruits will be able to take official visits again, but that hasn’t stopped certain targets of Michigan football from taking a trip to Ann Arbor.

In the 2021 class, Andrel Anthony, Tristan Bounds and George Rooks are some of the recruits who have taken a self-guided visit, along with Marlin Klein and recently, Joe Strickland in 2022.

Now, the Wolverines are set to host one of the best recruits in the entire 2022 class for a self-guided visit and that’s top overall corner Domani Jackson.

Jackson grew up in the Midwest and has said before that Michigan was his dream school and now he will be in town for the weekend of the Wisconsin game. Here’s what he told Greg Biggins of 247 sports ($):

"“I can’t wait. I’ll be there November 14 and this will be my first time visiting the Big House. I know it’s going to be a lot of fun and even though I’m sure the crowd won’t be as big as normal because of social distancing, it’s still going to be a great atmosphere in there.”"

I’m not sure exactly what he means by all of that and whether or not he will actually be in the stadium during the game, but it sounds like the plan will be to go to Ann Arbor and watch the game somewhere.

But other recruits and their parents got a chance to see the stadium, when it was empty and Jackson will surely get that chance too.

To be fair, Jackson also said he would be taking a visit to Texas over the weekend. He’s from California and the team that is currently viewed as the favorite is USC, which has a pair of crystal ball projections.

Yet, it’s early and the fact that Jackson is going to Ann Arbor, on his own accord, tells you that Michigan football is at least a serious player in his recruitment.

Michigan commits in 2021 plan to visit too

There is another day (Oct. 31) when current commits are planning a visit and Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider ($) noted that Jaydon Hood and Ja’Den McBurrows would both make the trip.

This is notable because neither player visited Ann Arbor before committing to the Wolverines, so they have often been viewed as the most likely candidates to be flipped.

Hood has always indicated that he’s solid but told Webb in an interview ($) over the weekend, he was still interested in taking visits. One of those appears to be Michigan.

He’s still being recruited and expect Miami to keep pushing hard, but if Hood makes that trip Oct. 31, I’d feel very confident in his commitment. It would also increase the confidence in McBurrows, who also told Webb he was 100 percent committed over the weekend.
