Even though the 2021 recruiting class is not quite wrapped up yet for Michigan basketball, it’s never too early to look ahead. The 2022 class is stacked with talent and the Wolverines will be right in the hunt for several top prospects.

When analyzing both the 2021 and the 2022 class, it has become clear that not only does 2022 have better players at the top, it’s a much deeper class as well. I’ve spoken to several people who agree with this assessment as well.

Michigan basketball will be in a unique position while trying to fill this 2022 class. The Wolverines will be coming off two very large recruiting classes and it is still unknown exactly how many prospects Juwan Howard will take for 2022.

As it sits right now, I expect them to have at a minimum three spots open. But with possible early NBA departures and transfers, it would not surprise me if this turned out to be a four or five man class.

If you are reading this and don’t pay much attention to recruiting, this is not too early to start breaking down the 2022 class for Michigan. Juwan Howard is already working hard on this class, and more than fifteen offers have already been sent out.

Just in the Big Ten alone, Michigan State, Maryland, and Ohio State have already picked up commitments from a 2022 top-150 prospect.

So as Michigan basketball works to finish off their 2021 class and begin work on its 2022 class, let’s break down six prospects that Juwan Howard will target in 2022.

Note: These are the six guys that as of right now I feel like Michigan is prioritizing the most and will have the best chance at getting. As we know in recruiting, anything can change.
