Michigan Football: 3 realistic expectations for Wolverines in 2020

Only two more weeks until Michigan football returns to the gridiron to fight for their opportunities ahead of them in this one of a kind season.

The extra long wait for the return of Michigan football is almost over. In a short two weeks our beloved Wolverines will travel to Minnesota to take on a sneaky good Golden Gophers program to open up the Big Ten season. Life will somewhat go back to normal for a while, even if it’s just a few hours on a fall Saturday afternoon.

The outlook on the docket cannot be taken lightly with at the very least half of the opponents on the schedule to be ranked in the polls.

There’s no doubt that Michigan football will be tested in the opener and then have to be ready for a rival who wants to get off on the right foot with new coach Mel Tucker in October.

Flipping the calendar towards November, three of the four meetings will determine whether the Wolverines can stay in the race for the Big Ten title into December.

No matter the case it will be paramount for Harbaugh’s men to get the proverbial monkey off their backs from the outset if they want to reach goals that they haven’t played for in quite some time.

Going into the 2020 season brings with it lofty expectations for a program that deals with them year in and year out.

This one is certainly no different then the next when it comes to that once again. In the following words to come are some realistic expectations that can be accomplished for this upcoming version of the Michigan football team.
