5 Bold predictions for Michigan Football’s offense in 2020
How good will Michigan football be on offense in 2020? We got you covered with five bold predictions for the Wolverines.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh has to be feeling good about his offense. In fact, his Michigan football team could be poised for its best offensive season in his six years as head coach.
The previous five seasons included many ups and downs on the offensive side of the ball, especially at the quarterback position. But even so, Harbaugh’s Wolverines have been more consistent than they’ve gotten credit for.
In four of his five seasons as head coach, the Wolverines have averaged 31 points or more and in three of his five seasons, they have averaged more than 400 yards of total offense.
Even the quarterback play has been better than some realize.
Sure, it hasn’t been elite, but outside of the disastrous 2017 season, in which starter Wilton Speight was injured, Harbaugh’s Michigan football teams have averaged nearly 23 touchdown passes per season (22.75).
Now, the next step is becoming elite. There is hope that Joe Milton will be that guy. Shea Patterson was solid and he won 19 games in two years, but he wasn’t the answer in terms of taking this program to the next level.
While there is tons of pressure on Milton, this offense is loaded with talent at running back, wide receiver and the offensive line.
Certainly, it would be great to see Nico Collins back in a Michigan uniform, but even without him, this offense has big-time potential and here are five bold predictions for 2020.
