Michigan emerging again with a 2022 QB

Things have been pretty murky when it comes to Michigan and its 2022 quarterback recruiting. The Wolverines have been recruiting a number of elite targets such as Ty Simpson, MJ Morris, Maalik Murphy and Gavin Wimsatt.

Yet, the Wolverines haven’t really emerged as a favorite in any of those recruitments and with five-star J.J. McCarthy committed in 2021, it might be tough to land another top-50 guy.

But that doesn’t mean Michigan can’t get a solid four-star quarterback and recently, U-M has started to push again with Nicco Marchiol, a top-200 QB out of Arizona.

Michigan appeared to be the favorite at one time for Marchiol, but then Florida State started gaining momentum and the Noles own all of his crystal ball picks.

But FSU’s struggles have opened the door again and the Wolverines are back on Marchiol, who tweeted this before this game this week. It was the only team graphic I saw.

The quarterback talked about taking visits before making a decision, so that would likely come in the spring. By then, if the Wolverines keep pushing, it’s possible they could be the leader again.
